The Medina County Park District will kick off February with a scavenger hunt in Brunswick and a Groundhog Day puppet show in Sharon Township.
The Susan B. Hambley Nature Center, 1473 Parschen Blvd., Brunswick will host an “I Spy” scavenger hunt noon to 5 p.m. today and Sunday.
Nichole Houze, who is planning the event, said the scavenger hunters will be seeking items that don’t necessarily belong in nature hidden throughout the wooded outdoor trail.
“It’s just a fun outdoor activity that you can do in the wintertime,” Houze said.
The hunt, which will include an indoor scavenger hunt, is free and designed for children of all ages.
The “I Spy” scavenger hunt will be available each weekend in February.
On Sunday, the Wolf Creek Environmental Center, 611 Ridge Road, Sharon Township, will host “Six More Weeks of Sleeping In,” a puppet show about Greg the Groundhog, who overslept.
The show starts at 2 p.m. and includes a craft. The event is suggested for youngsters 4 to 10 years old.
The show is free, but registration is required. To register visit medinacountyparks.com.
